Start here for daily prayers and follow the route for the day.
Read the notes on the back cover.
We start by keeping a minute or two of silence, inviting God to be in our thoughts and prayers
Spend a minute or two simply finding ways to praise God because He is our God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Read your Bible (if you haven’t already).
“Thank you, Lord that you hear our prayers.”
- Let God give you a hug before you finish.

Amen
Father God, you did not mean for us to live alone and you have given us each other to be a blessing. Show me how I may bring your blessing to others near and far, so that through prayer, understanding and action I may make your world a better place. And Lord, make me a blessing to those around me and not a burden. May I bring your peace into the lives of others, and may my words be an encouragement to those who struggle with life.
There is no doubt that the way we are treated by
those with authority over us can affect our lives
dramatically. A child that is shown love by parents
will learn to love. A child that is given respect by its
teachers will learn to respect others. An adult that is
treated fairly and honestly by an employer will give
a fair and honest days work. A country that sees
integrity and justice in its government will thrive. But
then of course there will be failures, too.
Not everyone who is loved responds with love. Not everyone who is treated fairly responds with fairness, and the powerful can easily dominate those in their charge for selfish reasons. So how is the Christian to respond? Jesus was born into a loving family in an age when the religious authorities dominated the nation's life. Added to that, the occupying Roman army imposed another level of authority again. Yet Jesus was always in control. Look at how he dealt with those who tried to trick him into breaking the law
(Luke 20:20-26) and when he was apparently in their power  (John chapter 19) who was really in control? If we see death as total defeat we will give in to the most outrageous demands - for all the good it will do. But if our lives are rooted in Jesus Christ then we are promised a share in his glory through His ultimate defeat of death on the cross. God will never desert us. If we
stay faithful to Him, we need fear no-one - whatever happens.
Parents
Lord, I give you thanks for those who brought me into the world. I know they were not perfect, as I also am not perfect. I thank you for all the good I received from them and I willingly forgive any hurts, real or imagined that I suffered. May the love within Your heart that brought me to life be the very love which honours them and all parents that I meet, so that the world may be better for my part in it.
Teachers
Although school teachers play an important part in our learning to be adults, they are not our only teachers by any means. Our parents, relations, friends, and many others influence our thinking and understanding, I give you thanks, Lord for ail those through the years who have guided me in wisdom and truth. I give you especial thanks for those who, by their lives and words, have helped me to find Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour.
Employers
Many people spend the largest portion of their life at work and so it must be a large part of God's plan for us too. Lord, may I be a blessing to those I work with, and those who work for me, whether we like each other or not. May I always do my best; acknowledge you in front of others; suffer fools if I must; help those in need; never do anything that would conflict with your laws of right and wrong and love others.
Local Authorities
Our society is a complex organism and there are many who work at local levels for the benefit of us ail. Lord, I pray for those who exercise power on behalf of the community. May they always use that power for the common good and especially for the benefit of those in greatest need. And Lord, may my prayers and encouragement help them to do the best job possible so that we may live in peace and harmony with each other.
The Government
Lord we so easily get tangled up in the petty squabbles of Party politics and miss the bigger picture. It is a daunting task to organize the running of a country. Lord, I offer my prayers to support and uphold those who have been chosen to perform that massive task. May I always be ready to praise and thank; "to ready to speak out when your voice is needed and to stand up and be counted among the followers of Jesus Christ.
The United Nations Organization
Lord, with the huge variety of religions and cultures in our world, it is amazing that we have such a body at all. I pray that you will guide the leaders of the nations in their determination to set people free, right wrongs and create a world in which everyone is respected equally. And Lord, because peace is only part of your will, I pray that through the love and care of Christian nations the world will know that Jesus is Lord.
