The octagonal Stone Font opposite the main door was dedicated in 1853. Although the base undoubtedly dates from this time, the font itself may be much older. Its carvings depict the instruments of the Passion of Christ alternating with the symbols of the Gospel, the four living Creatures of the Book of Revelation :

The Tunic and Dice;
The Ladder, Spear and Sponge;
The Reed, Pillar and the Flail;
The Nails, Hammer and Pincers.

The Man of St. Matthew;
The Lion of St. Mark;
The Ox of St. Luke;
The Eagle of St. John.

The heavy cover is carved from oak and is counterbalanced by iron weights (cast in the shape of medieval bellringers) on the end of chains which run over pulleys.
